Friends

Neither Micheal or I live near our families, so our friends have become foundation which provides us the support, love and occasional smack down that a 'traditional' family structure provides. We are also very strong believers that family is not defined as blood relatives. Two famous quotes come to mind when we think our friends.

From Richard Bach: "The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other's life. Rarely do members of one family grow up under the same roof".

From Martin Luther King, Jr.: The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where the stand in times of challenge and controversy".
